Speakers

Brian Lazzaro

Dep Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, Cornell University, USA

Brian research is focused on the evolutionary genomics of insect-pathogen interactions, emphasizing such questions as how natural selection operates on host immune systems and why individuals vary in susceptibility or resistance to infection. Marta Montserrat Larrosa

Instituto de Hortofruticultura Subtropical y Mediterránea (IHSM) in the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Spain

Marta activity focuses on food web engineering, defined as an extension of conservation biological pest control (BPC) that integrates community ecology and evolutionary biology into the management of agro-ecosystems potentially exposed hostile environments, such warming.
